| Manchester City to play Real Madrid. Again. 12:05 - Feb 27 with 1107 views | Miaow | They already met in the league phase of this season's Champions League and now they've been drawn together in the last 16. They also played each other in the CL last season. And the season before that. And the one before that. And the one before that. And the one before the one before that. A super league in all but name... | |

Could be a Newcastle v Spurs quarter final which, if that doesn’t scream mediocrity I don’t know what does. Spurs haven’t won domestic c championship since 1961. Newcastle since 1927. Such a “champions” league.

| Manchester City to play Real Madrid. Again. on 16:01 - Feb 27 with 742 views | MattinLondon | I only start to watch the CL when it moves into the final 16. I know it’s fashionable to say that they don’t like these matches and something about modern football but the intensity of the top top teams is quite breathtaking. I expect both Newcastle and Spurs to be knocked out fairy easily by their opponents in this round of the competition. | | | |

Nothing is special any more. It is the same with the Nations' League for internationals, with the best teams playing each other all the time.
| Manchester City to play Real Madrid. Again. on 16:15 - Feb 27 with 724 views | J2BLUE | I think it's great. One of them isn't going to make the quarter finals. I fully expect whichever team loses to kick off and demand seeding in future draws. | |

It's already seeded isn't it? Madrid didn't do well enough to make the last 16 automatically through the league phase.

I understand the sentiment but can't agree, there is some amazing talent on display and if you luck upon the right game to watch there have been some pretty spectacular ties. I completely agree with views around the increasing lack of variation and the same old teams though, it runs the risk of getting dull in that way
