Thank god Southampton didn’t have a couple of extra wins earlier in the year. When you look at the below it really makes me feel fairly confident. I’d say our run in and Boro’s are about the same in terms of toughness. Home form and squad depth you’d fancy us probably but easily could be setting up for the biggest game of the entire EFL league season at PR in April.

Coventry - 104
Middlesbrough - 99
———————-
Ipswich - 99
Hull - 96
Millwall - 95
Wrexham - 90
———————-
Southampton - 86

We need to go bigly big in March as our April fixtures - Saints, Brum, Scum and Boro - could be a nightmare .

Still convinced everything is going to the last minute of the last game.

Let's hope Sarmiento doesn't get his 3rd straight promotion , or scores at PR again

Ipswich and Boro both can't get 99 points.

But the max points that both can individually get is 99.
It's a pretty blunt comparison tool but makes a point if kept simple.
Hull play us, Millwall and Wrexham next 3 games, so that skews the maths too, in sure there are others.

Another thing this shows is that unless someone wins 11/12/13 on the bounce, the points for promotion are likely to be less than the usual 90 point benchmark. Maybe quite a bit lower. If it's nearer, say, 85 points, then winning 8 of the last 13 for us seems very achievable.

Meh, every game as it comes, see what happens. Brum beating Boro and us beating hull would be an amazing start though!

Strikers finally finding the net, other attacking players in form, Philogene to come back (hopefully), and normal defensive solidity resumed. If we avoid any more brain farts like Wrexham and Charlton, and the fans keep our knickers untwisted we should be very confident.

There's a good chance that whoever finishes third will face an in-form Southampton side in the playoffs, that's something I would be keen for us to avoid. I'm more confident about our top two prospects than a week ago but I can see it going to the final day.

With 11 games to go those 'in form' now won't necessarily be in form for the play offs. But equally, if Southampton do make them, they'd have won the vast majority of their final 20 or so games, so potentially they could be one to avoid.

Southampton or Wrexham isn’t a fun scenario. Although over two leg is a completely different animal. I’m pleased there’s a 13 point cushion over Saints currently (in terms of available points), if it was half that with still having to go to St Mary’s, I’d be a little concerned about them considering their current form.

If it was last season no one would have enough points available for auto’s even now outside of Cov, shows a huge disparity in what will be needed this year.

Why have you got us 3rd when our goal difference is better than Boro?

If we win all our remaking fixtures, then four of those teams cannot achieve maximum ?

We’re not really on the same points as them. Should have had us 4th, it’s showing teams current positions max output.

Is it really that hard to understand?! It will change weekly, including Tuesday night (and hopefully Monday as well).
