When players keep diving in the box, it's little wonder the ref doesn't give us a penalty. I haven't seen the replay so don't know if it was a foul in the dying seconds there.

Leifs was absolutely, it was a foul, he was in the penalty box.so its a penalty.

Leif even went over to him later and showed him the stud marks

Indeed Var would give it for sure, Anis looked even more of a shout and Kipre was just ridiculous

The only Muff in Town.

Apparently it's the same ref who gave us a last min penalty v Preston.

Unfortunately you have to accept these decisions or go with the VAR option. im sure many people moaning will say VAR is sh!te too. You can't have it both ways.

If the ref doesn't see it, he doesn't see it. I haven't seen it but Scott Minto on the radio said he probably didn't see it (presumably it was crowded?)

He did give one penalty against Preston, but then refused an even more blatant penalty in the remaining time added on, which would have given us a win. As for today, despite what the ref said, he had a clear view of Choudery fouling Kipre, no crowd, no one blocking his view and, surprise surprise he doesn’t give a penalty which would have decided the game.

Leaving that aside he was an appalling referee, inconsistent from the off, for both sides. Exactly as he was against Preston, the only difference wing that he did pull up their keeper for time wasting which he failed to do against Preston, then spoiled it by ignoring it for the rest of the game.

He was looking straight at it without anyone between him and them.

I have no confidence VAR would overturn it either. That is simply adding an extra level of random decision-making. Let the refs make their mistakes the same as players do and live with them.

This will be unpopular but it's about time someone called out Azon on this. I've rarely seen a Town player throw themselves to the floor so readily and in such an unconvincing manner. He makes Joe Garner look like an honest pro. You can't score if you're on your backside waving your arms around.

Hate to say it, but I agree, He'd actually beaten his man too. You could see he was looking for it. Shame really, because the guy works his socks off, just needs to cut out that nonsense.

I wasn't around when professional football started in the 19th century but I can say, over the last half century that I've been watching, cheating has got worse.

Yes, I remembered a player diving used to be really frowned upon as cheating. Now it jus happens all the time. Similar with tactical fouls, for which players are often praised nowadays ("a good yellow card" ). I am sure we accept 'the dark arts' more than we used to a few decades ago.

There are penalties given that shouldn't be & others missed by refs that should be; these things happen, always have & are down to genuine, competent people being unsightly or just unlucky. What happened yesterday however, does not fall into the categories of genuineness or competency, as both the Mehmeti & Kipre ones were quite clear on first view; the ref saying he didn't see the Kipre one was pathetic.
There may well be something in the argument that the ref saw the Azon & Davis ones as simulation - I didn't think Leif's was a penalty & Azon's looked dreadful - & was therefore less inclined to give the next claim, but the Kipre one was so blatant, it was a travesty.
