2 games to navigate. No room for error for Matusiwa (what an incredible run) Furlong (a card machine of late) and Kipre. Mehmeti on 8 can get away with 1 more and you’d think a player in his position would be able to avoid.

If Matusiwa gets through Stoke, is there an argument for resting him for Sheff Wed?

Guy's got to be due a rest regardless of the card situation, he's been a relentless machine. Benching him for Wednesday might be sensible.

Nah just get a couple of goals to the good and pull him off.

Ooh err.

That would be ideal as he can have a rest during international break but a yellow against Wednesday rules him out of two key home games. I'd be tempted to go with Neil and Taylor.

Take a hit on one game to save a potential hit on two?

There's an argument for picking the game, but I'd want the best players on the pitch at every game in the league. Even v Sheff Wed. As an Ipswich fan of many years, no result can be certain!

The thought had crossed my mind, but we can't take anything for granted. Need to put our best foot forward at Wednesday and get the 3 points on the board, and he's such an important player for us. Would be ideal if we're in a position to get him off early though.

You should though be able to go to wednesday of all clubs and be able to pick a CM instead of Azor without it hurting the side..

I don't think we'll be taking anything for granted. They don't roll over, they've only lost 2 of their last 7 at home by more than a 1 goal margin and I doubt KM will be complacent about it at all.

I get that, but we shouldn't be in a position where we couldn't cope without Azor, that's the point.

Shouldn’t be any need, one of those games where we ‘shouldn’t’ be chasing anything and giving away needless fouls.

Absolutely not.

Treat it like we would any other game and play our best players.

Exactly, every game from here on has to be all out to win, can’t be resting our best player

I usually need a rest after being pulled off.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Its not that we couldn't cope necessarily, but like every side in the division you're going to miss your best players in the same way Hackney makes Middlesbrough a better side. I wouldn't voluntarily miss him for 1 game to protect him from possibly missing 2.

McKenna won't either. In that eventuality he'll start against Wednesday but we would look to get him off if we're in a position to do it.
