| Jack Colback retires (n/t) on 14:22 - Mar 9 with 980 views | Swansea_Blue | He’s had a long career; it seems lifetimes since he was with us. Will always be fondly remembered for not being able to beat the first man’s knees with his corners. He was a far better player than he was given credit for when here, just stuck in a sh*t side playing sh*t football. | |

Grant Leadbitter at the same time was exactly the same with corners - never seemed to be able to get it off the ground! Very similar too in terms of situation - another very good player who was here at a very difficult time for the club. Colback played at full back for us a lot if I recall correctly? Good players. We really should have done better during that period but con was in a mess.

Yes, he was good. I seem to remember he was player of the year here for 2 seasons? Once even when he was on loan.

I remember his second loan spell being a lot worse than the first one from the previous season where he was pretty decent

Anyone who gets to play in the hard world of professional football is a good player. Colback? I’ve seen worse players. Tenacious and hard working is how I remember him. Downside was a lack of discipline and was not exceptional at any one thing. Given the clubs he played for that’s a harsh view. Leadbetter? Don’t think we saw the best of him here, but then if memory serves me right his time here was under the appalling Keane’s and joke figure Jewell. Good players. Did I enjoy watching them play? No not really, but that’s more down to the dross team of the time than them.
