How has he been doing, week in, week out, over the course of the season?
Have either of our playing keepers made mistakes this season, or indeed have our outfield players been flawless?
How about the other keepers in the Championship, or even the Premier League?
Muric is a very talented goalkeeper, who has his weaknesses, one of which can be decision making at times. Unfortunately he had a poor start with us & his confidence took a battering, causing uncertainty in his mind & an unnecessarily harsh early & public reaction from a body of our fanbase, which only added to the problem.
The club, rightly, took the decision to move him on, as the situation here is unsalvageable. Thankfully he has been having a very good season in Italy & emerged as one of the top performing keepers in the league. Sassuola will almost certainly trigger a €10m purchase clause & other, richer, clubs are also reported to be considering making a bid for him. This is great news for all concerned surely?
He ain't coming back here, but I can't understand why any posters would be taking delight in him making a consequential error, given all that I refer to above, rushing on here to make sneery or 'see, told you he was rubbish' type comments. | |

People have had to wait this season haven't they slade. Think the last teasing or sarky sneers came on the opening game of the season, and I suspect the magnifying glasses have been in hand throughout his time in Italy. Interesting that you chose to highlight this error but not made any significant references to the fact he has been MotM on a number of occasions this season, string of good performances have been called out by Italian media, notably vs Inter in Feb, and been highlighted as one of the key factors in Sassuolo doing above expectations.
People need to move on, he was not successful for us for a number of reasons but ability was not one of them.
Glad he has done well for himself and Sassuolo this season, didn’t deserve the abuse he got last year. |  | | |
