Bit of perspective maybe 15:08 - Mar 21 with 903 viewsseblue78

We had 4 of our usual starters missing today and we absolutely bossed that first half. Millwall are a very good team and are where they are for a reason. Fair play to them. They play to their strengths. As Boro will hopefully find out. We’ve got Nunez, Wes, Kipre, Davis and a fit Jaden back for the run in hopefully. And are in the same position we were when we started. I know a win would have been nice but let’s not all go down the negativity route. Think positive. We can do this.

It's known as an embarrassment of riches.

It's great when your back up is a £15m centre back, £15m winger, one of the best attacking midfielders in the division, and Johnson.

We can't really complain.

We are a year 1 parachute club, they brought on Barry Bannon.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

I never said we don’t have good back ups. And I wasn’t really including Clarke in that as he deserves to start. Fact is Wes, Kipre, Davis and Nunez would have started today which would then have given us better options from the bench. The subs had almost the opposite effect today which is one of our usual strengths. So having them all of them back for the run in is a massive positive and could be the difference. So let’s look on the brighter side maybe than the usual divs jumping on the negativity bandwagon.

We had as subs a player who cost £22M and another £17M. Ridiculous at this level. Yet we still couldn’t manage a tactical change and win the game despite being ahead at half time.

Leicester are a shambles whilst Southampton had a rocky start under still. Assuming they hold on to the win against Oxford, they'd be a point ahead of us from the date their current manager took over, and six ahead of Millwall.

Leicester are not a traditional year 1 parachute club are they FFS, surely that doesn’t need explaining to you?

Southampton are also a mess and we’re in relegation form to start the season, how may coaches have they had since we both got promoted? There is a reason we were strong favorites this season, we don’t need perspective against a team that cost less than two of our bench players. We had that word perspective used a lot last year but not this year, thanks. It’s just excuses.

Hard to find perspective with most on this forum.

We played a very good team, a draw is not a terrible result. So many supporters seem to feel we should win every single game.

What and they’d be above Millwall if they didn’t have the deduction then would they? Does that need explaining to you? Likewise what’s Southampton’s managers got to do with it. You suggested we should be beating Millwall cos we’re a first year parachute club. Why not wait until the end of the season you negative div.

Considering the amount of investment in the squad, it's not too much to ask for a good performance across 90 minutes more often that not. It's safe to say we haven't managed to do that since Hull at a pinch, Swansea definitely.

Well that snowballed quickly. What happened to ‘ think positive’. Guess that doesn’t extend to not abusing fellow fans.

Also at one nil down at h-t and having been completely outplayed, they had to go all out attack. They had nothing to lose.

Once or twice you could give us a pass for only playing well in half the game, but that is a fairly common theme this season. We don’t seem to have a ruthless instinct to put games to bed when we are in top. Millwall were blocking all sorts of things at the back, we seem to have an underlying fragility in terms of turning all these draws in to wins.

They didn't veen go all out attack. For the most part, it was down to a press we couldn't cope with.

Town had bossed the first half and had no reason to change anything. You would have wanted more of the same, stay on the front foot & try to score a second goal Y then try to close out the game. Neil changed Millwall's formation, they played aggressively in the second half and we struggled to cope. Yes, at some stage McKenna should have changed something, but what should he have changed and when?
Their goal obviously have Millwall a lift & credit to them, they didn't decide to sit back & try to grind out a draw. Sometimes, you do have to give credit to the opposition. We have better individual players than them & it showed in the first half, but Millwall are 4th in the table for a reason - Neil has moulded them into an effective unit. They have won 9 away games this season and lost only 4.

The money we have spent on some bang average players is the problem.

This is bascially our problem this season. Individually, we probably have the best squad in the division. As a team it feels like, more often than not, we're not quite working as a unit.
