Azon denied by a world class save *again* 16:12 - Mar 21 with 830 viewsLibero

I stand by my assessment that his goal scoring statistics aren’t an accurate reflection of the fantastic qualities he’s offered our team this season- by my count that’s 5 times (minimum) he’s been denied a goal by an unbelievable save or piece of bad luck.

It was a beautiful connection but an unbelievable save.

I thought he offered a decent focal point today, and linked us together nicely. We lost that when he went off.

That said, I still stand by my view that we should have signed a striker in January.

Cracking save but I’m going to cynical here - he went for connection and power and In fairness went to early and hit too clean - if he had let it drop a bit he could have put it any where. This has been our downfall all season, finishing has been poor for the most part.

I disagree. He hit it early, perfectly and to the side of the keeper. You can't blame Azon for the world-class save. 99 times out of 100 that would have hit the back of the net.

Had he hesitated and the shot blocked, he would have been pilloried. People would be saying he's not a natural striker or such bullshit.

Sky also felt it was world class… on 16:27 - Mar 21 with 679 viewsunstableblue

… and seeing again, it’s quite a save, as the ball was travelling and his reaction had to be spot on

He was blind sided for Clarke’s shot, view blocked by their defenders

Walton’s save was pretty good again Azeez… before they struck the bar

Mate, the ball was already back behind him (and going further behind him) when he hit it from what I remember. He did fantastically well to get that contact on it AND keep it down, in the split second he had to react to it. Phenomenal save.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Yeah just said on another thread it was a great game from him - proper 'leading the line' performance and the difference between him and Hirst right now is far greater than it should be.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I can’t remember if I’ve discussed with you before, so apologies if I’m repeating myself - undoubtedly, a top notch striker is needed to keep this team progressing, but simply put- none were available in January that would come in and hit the ground running, while also significantly improving our starting 11 *and* potentially have any longevity looking towards a premier league season, next season.
