But did Farage and/or his party talk about issues whilst in Ipswich? Any points of substance? Cost of living… housing… transportation…. Stuff like that? Or was it just bantering for clicks, act the c**t then fk off to the next staged event of nothingness.

I swear back in the day when political leaders would venture out to the provinces they would have advisers brief them on talking points, sit down with local businessmen, maybe visit a school. There was a sense you had grown-ups in charge. How did we get to today’s sorry state?

With all the focus being on the Portman Road visit, plus a little on him being run out of Felixstowe, it seems to have been forgotten there was also a rally held at Trinity Park.

Funnily enough the HR bod at my office was in attendance, and yes, issues were discussed. Everything you might expect from potholes to the "Islamification" of Britain.

Wouldn't want to go to your HR if I had visa issues!

His main points were how to avoid paying UK income tax and moving the NHS over to an insurance based system. Next week will be focused on taking away workers employment rights and fire and re-hire.

Ha. She's actually an immigrant herself. She insists she was dragged by the other half and had never been to a political event before.

He said about the 1000 people coming over on the boats in the past week because of the nice weather, doesn’t get reported on now though?

He asked Kier yesterday why hasn’t he gone with his promise of ‘stopping the (boat) gangs’ like he said he would but he didn’t answer.

It would be crazy for them to talk about actual policies.

The average Reform voter will be screwed over by Farage so it's in his interest to stay away from policies and keep it heavily focussed on 'upsetting all the right people'.

Imagine you are a 50 year old man with a wife and two kids. You think Farage is a top bloke and would be great to have a pint with so you vote for Reform.

Reform get power. Six months later that man who worked from home three days a week has been ordered back to the office full, the privatisation of healthcare bill is on its second reading and they have reduced mandatory holiday, scrapped the minimum wage and scrapped the 48 hours working week limit. As AI takes more jobs the company lowers wages and benefits while increasing expected working hours knowing that there is ever more competition for jobs.

We restore relations with Russia, strike a deal to buy their oil and betray Europe for the last time.

We cut foreign aid. More people are desperate and try to come here on small boats. The number getting here actually reduces but every single say we see another story of another 100+ migrants drowning.

Now jobless and wondering what happened you get an appointment at the job centre to sign on. You get an appointment with Brad who talks down to you and eventually agrees to give you your £21 a week. You're about to say what the f##k when you remember cheering as Farage announced a slash to the welfare bill.

You go home, run a bath and lay there wondering what you are going to do. Then you feel a lump. You get out, ask AI about it and it tells you to get a scan. You log into your health insurance platform hoping your 'Magic Sponge' cover will cover the cost. Then you see that it doesn't, and even if it did, you have a £10,000 deductible so you just decide to hope it goes away.

A year later, with your savings at £0 and 1641 rejections you finally get an interview at McDonalds. £18,000 a year, 50 hours per week on a rota basis at a 24 hour store. Two hours into your first day Karen from your high school, who thankfully doesn't recognise you, is screaming at you that she asked for NO ONIONS.

You stand there thinking at least I upset all the right people.

Truly impaired.

Reform UK, friends of illegal immigration. Funny how there was no issue with small boats arriving in the UK until after his Brexit deal, I say his because his party dropped 319 candidates in the GE so that the Johnson Government would get elected, he would not have done this without assurances that his preferred version of Brexit was put in place by Johnson. Then after that we get a 10 fold increase in illegal immigration and Reform say it is all Labours fault.

farage and his brexit is the cause of these problems and he has no more idea of how to solve them than boris/jenrik/braverman etc etc.

not sure if anyone can solve the gangs issue, but my money would be on the former dpp rather than the posho anti-semitic farage who runs from every confrontation!

I do sometimes wonder, aside from the anti immigration stuff, what reform offer that people want to vote for.

If only the UK had a returns agreement with France, something like the one Johnson/Farage got rid of within the EU agreement, oh, they dismissed this as not required, under this agreement 60,000 illegal immigrants a year were returned to France. That is not available now.

The cynic in me thinks that high illegal immigration was deliberately facilitated so that the far right parties could secure the racist votes.

Removing the UK from the ECHR act, when since 1980 the ECHR has ruled against the UK in 13 cases relating to extradition or deportation, I wonder what other human rights Reform are looking to remove from us after removing our protection under the ECHR? Because with so few immigration cases it has nothing to do with that.
