| Is there a way back from all of this?? 17:14 - Mar 26 with 433 views | Roburmsyenna | After all the good work Ashton has done over the years, can he regain the trust of a fanbase. I'm not one who is outraged, disgusted etc., but I do feel hurt that the club can't seem to admit a mistake, can't take ownership for it and couldn't see the potential fall out from this. I can't stand Reform and all they stand for, but I am one who can perhaps get over it if the truth is just told, after all we all have our different beliefs, its just that the club shouldn't have been involved in anyone's political stance. This does have a real danger of derailing our season, and upsetting more than fans alone. However my question is what can Ashton do if anything to get the trust back from a large number of fans, I for one just wouldn't now be able to trust anything that comes out of his mouth again. All the stuff like, trust the process, we will be relentless, I care passionately for this club etc. now just seems fake and worn, he really has shot himself in the foot and it will take some rebuilding imo. | |

| Is there a way back from all of this?? on 17:21 - Mar 26 with 295 views | Zx1988 | The trust is irrevocably broken with me, I'm afraid. Ashton has form for this sort of thing, and clearly has no intention of changing. It seems to pre-date his time with ITFC as well - this is from that thread on the Bristol forum: "Tell someone to lie to cover his back, then go into hiding when it’s pointed out he’s lying. Doesn’t sound like him at all." Then you've got the ticketing debacle from Norwich away in 2024, where he explicitly said that none of what ITFC fans had seen with their own eyes and heard with their own ears was true. If he stays, something controversial will happen again thanks to his ego, and he'll continue to try and lie his way out of it. | |

I just can't see how he can regain the trust and good will he had here now, all gone with a few hours work. Astonishing, and the timing of it is actually mind boggling, asks the fans to get behind them and then turns around and all this

That's one of the worst things to come out of all this, looks like those BC fans were probably right after all dammit!!!

| Is there a way back from all of this?? on 17:25 - Mar 26 with 224 views | BackToRussia | If he had owned up to and apologised on day one, perhaps. His ego prevented him from doing that, the same ego that presumably allowed him to think inviting Farage to the club was a good idea. Hubris has a way of biting you! | |

| Is there a way back from all of this?? on 17:27 - Mar 26 with 213 views | Nutkins_Return | Disgusted by the whole thing. Personally I do believe in 2nd chances and forgiving etc. if he were to come out and apologize properly and accept his huge error of judgement with the reasons he did it etc etc I'd forgive and forget (depending o. The content and it being genuine). But personally I can't see him surviving this and he's only got himself to blame. Hosting Farage is an unbelievable error of judgement and wrong for our football club and has me questioning him as a person. But the way it has been dealt with, seemingly lies and trying to brush under the carpet. Lots won't forgive so it will create an awful division now (Reform doing what they do best!!!). | |

club is now tarnished by one man alone, something that other fans will have over us for years and years, split a fanbase in a days work, just can't see a way forward for him now, his time is done
