Just a simple question. I have my forum threads set for football, why am I getting all this stuff about a visit by Farage to the club ? I understand why people are upset about this but we watch/go to football to get away from every day life and it's problems. I also do the same when reading TWTD.

I would guess it is because Farage has made political capital out of visiting the football club you follow.

Well done for starting a new thread about it, though. I think most agree we could do with a few more of them.

Our FOOTBALL club has been platformed a racist traitor. Therefore people are discussing what our FOOTBALL club has done and not done on the FOOTBALL forum. Hope that helps.

Those threads are about football, so have to be in that category. This is a general thread though Sorry, surprised nobody has done that yet!

You can hide posts. I appreciate there's a lot of them, but they will die down soon. Massive shame there's no real football on.

Seriously?

So were you just being rude and also suggesting there is only one view to be taken? If the latter, then that would imply that the question seems to you a simple matter, with no alternative or nuance allowed.

The OP asked why he was getting threads in the football section about Farage's visit, yes?

Farage's visit to our football club. How is that not football related?

The club invited politics and this discourse in to football when they allowed the visit and the social media posts that followed to happen unfortunately. It is naïve to believe the two things are separate at the moment.

The O.P. obviously thinks it isn't. Questioning his simplicity suggests you disagree, but it was the fact that you raised no counter argument at the time, but resorted to invective. Your "seriously" implied to me that the O.P. was invalid or that the great welter of previous argument should have sufficed to settle him, no?
