so not just political certainty but clairvoyance as well. practically super powers.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Not clairvoyance, I'm just not stupid or easily fooled.

Oh here ? I think you would struggle to find a less rational place. Its all good if you agree with the core posters, disagree or offer an alternative view and all hell breaks loose. [Post edited 28 Mar 9:08]

we could probably learn from his "motivational" methods. Promotion would be a formality.

| Everything that the club stood for has been compromised on 08:45 - Mar 28 by lowhouseblue | so why did all the wailing start, and all the toys leave the pram, before anyone had any evidence that the club's first statement was incomplete. people on here had gone into full flounce even before the first atlantic piece. the "it's only because he lied line" was a relatively late arrival at the party. |
You're right that some people did pile in after the rumours first circulated and we saw Reform's own publicity about the visit. That was perhaps understandable seeing a divisive character in the home dressing room with a line of "Farage 10" shirts. We then had the club's first statement. Incomplete is perhaps the kindest thing you could say about it. Left us with more questions than answers. At best, it appeared that the club had been incredibly naive. For me, the point of no return was the piece in the Atlantic and the realisation that the club had fed us a load of lies. Farage had been invited, he'd dined with MA and Nash and he'd been gifted the shirts. Not to mention the distasteful quip about our manager leaving in the summer. The club's response to that was to double-down on its "incomplete" statement. Instead of owning up to the lies, it contended that the piece in the Atlantic was inaccurate, but when pushed to clarify, it declined. On to yesterday's interview and apology. I'm not really bothered by how sincere the apology and, yes, MA acknowledged that trust had been eroded. However, questions still left unanswered and another vague throwaway line about "mistruths" with no details. A proper interview without a preprepared script would have seen him challenged for clarification, but no. MA's rallying call was for togetherness and to get behind the team in the final push for promotion. He may be right, but it all sounds a bit hollow.

| Everything that the club stood for has been compromised on 08:33 - Mar 28 by Dubtractor | Yeah, but you'd not be as vocal if it was Polanski, would you? eh? Pretty relentless whataboutery all week, from all the people who would be fooking livid if it actually had been Polanski. Which is exactly the point, that the club shouldn't platform ANY political party, because it is nailed on to piss off a decent chuck of the support and cause friction. |
100% this, and I'd be livid if that Green party weirdo was anywhere near our club. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Everything that the club stood for has been compromised on 11:50 - Mar 28 with 116 views | BloomBlue | It was compromised when Sheepshanks actions resulted in Suffolk firms losing money and worse people losing their jobs. Suffolk community club, my ar@e Then Ashton and the club failed to take action when Morsy refused to wear the rainbow armband. When the club was called homophobic F.C and Anti LGTBQ+ F.C on the glorious WWW. Which upset some players, staff and at least one major sponsor. The irony being the morons who supported Town on the WWW then were the far right lot, who everyone is now getting upset with. Also if I remember correctly (sorry if im wrong) but you backed the club for their decision and being Homophobic F.C. What Ashton did is wrong and I'm sure after the season is over he will be gone. I'm guessing the owners want to try and keep things together with promotion the aim. But to stand on some stupid step and claimed the club has never done anything anti community before then you're talking out of your ar&e. Uness you think the club not paying its bills and Suffolk people losing their jobs is fine because at least we played in Europe that season. | | | |
