| Football related? 11:18 - Mar 29 with 2391 views | BlueBlueBluex2 | Is there any reason why people continue to post (and admin allow oddly) non football related posts on the ‘wrong side’ of this forum? Last few days have swiftly spoilt a solid 20+ years of visiting. | | | | |

How do you define a fascist. I don’t support Reform but I think we should try to be accurate in our accusations.

And, if Ashton is still here, do you expect it to have gone away? I certainly don't. It will go away one day. That will almost certainly be when Ashton has left the club. Although, even then, we will remain in the national eyes Farage FC with that picture left, right and centre. Sky will almost certainly show it on our next TV coverage and when advertising the game. It is an image that will endure.

Well my mother in-law was born in 1920's Berlin, at aged 16 she operated a search light in world war 2. The way she described Fascism was way worse than Reform. As an aside I don't trust any politician, I think they start well meaning then get carried along on the Westminster bubble.

I am genuinely interested in this. What aspects of her descriptions of early 1930s German Fascism did she describe that do not match up to Reform?

This is the thing. Reform are so openly aligned to what that party and Trump's policies that you have to say giving them power will lead to the same situations. I am genuinely curious why anyone would feel they are not aligned with them. Or worse, why anyone recognising that would want to give them any power.

The Nazi party running Germany as a dictatorship, being questioned by school teachers about her parents political, views, also her neighbours views and religion, basically being forced into the Hitler youth movement, Jewish people were classed as second class citizens & later having there property seized . Basically being brainwashed by the Nazi party. She also told me about hyper inflation & horror of being bombed every day. She married my father in-law who was a British squady, she moved to the East End of London, which you can imagine was not great for a German women .

| Football related? on 10:20 - Mar 31 with 102 views | baxterbasics | In similar vein to points made on the other thread (TWTD is a hotbed of left wingers) I don't think it's accurate to describe Reform (or Farage) as Fascists. Not by the strict ideological definition anyway. Their policy platform is a strange mix of things. Racist and intolerant? Sure there's plenty of evidence of that, protest away on that basis. But that does not strictly equal fascist which has become as meaningless an insult as lefty or commie. Right-wing populists fits better. | |

I agree, they're not fascists - they're quasi-fascists. "A quasi-fascist is an individual, movement, or regime that adopts key authoritarian, nationalist, and repressive characteristics of fascism without fully embodying its radical, revolutionary, or totalitarian ideology. These, often termed "para-fascist," focus on maintaining tradition, order, or religion rather than promoting rapid systemic change."
