My overarching feeling now is just total indifference towards the club and rest of the season. Previously I'd been thinking a lot about whether we were going to do it, checking fixtures, talking with loads of people about this etc, now I just can't help but feel totally indifferent. Just completely removed my excitement for football, and the escape from the stresses of life that Ipswich Town has always provided me. Perhaps it will return, perhaps it will not. So sad.

My love for the club will never die. I just feel hurt that Ashton did this. I feel this has dented my trust in Ashton, but I do appreciate what he's done for the club. If he comes out with an apology from his heart, then maybe I can forgive him, but until then, I don't know.

I keep reminding myself that this is not the fault of KM or the players. They deserve our continued support in what should be an exciting time for us all.

I know what you mean though.

Yeah that is right, though I guess my feelings at the minute don't derive from logic or reason - just how I feel on an emotional level (which is difficult to change)

Dont fall for the ashton line of hurt. I dont think its hurt.

Im sure you feel angry however and thats why i feel ashton and club have not understood.

When youre hurt an apology can in most cases resolve that hurt. But when angry it takes a lot more especially when the apology is all for show.

I still feel as angry about it today as I did when it first came out. Mainly because yesterday another thing happend that shows what ashton and the club did was incredibly stupid and I'm angry because I think its something thats gonna haunt the club for years to come

Because you are a snowflake that likes to make a mountain out of a mole hill if we want the club open to everyone then we all have to except that means people with different political views to are own. Do I like and surport Farage No do I agree with what he stands for also no. But a good number of people including many season ticket holders do. You should just count yourself very lucky that the worst thing in your life is someone having photos at a football grown

Yes, it's culture wars and the woke left.

Either deliberately missing the point to force another narrative or being ignorant to people's real concerns. I suspect the former, but if the latter, then may I suggest you read what people have posted on this board and come back stating your point in good faith, rather than by hurling abuse at a fan who clearly loves his club?

Except any further apology from here won’t be from his heart - it’ll be because he wants to keep his job the racist sympathizing weasel.

I have read all the posts on here by the many keyboard worriers who like to get upset by everything. There's nearly 30000 inside portman road on a Saturday and yet only a very very small percent going on about this that should tell you that most don't care one way or the other.

And that's a good thing, why?

The club lied to the media. Lied to you, lied to me, doubled-down on it, got caught out on it then failed to take any accountability.

Regardless of what went on before (and fwiw, the 'who' is of zero importance to me, clubs just do not promote political parties, regardless of stripe), this alone, is enough for me, and many others (including the editor of this very site) to have zero trust in the leadership and to want change (or at the very least, serious answers. I can only speak for myself)

You are entirely entitled to your view, and I would be very interested to know why you think that accountability does not matter (or if you do, why you think it does not matter in this instance).

I would also like to know how you can back up your "most don't care one way or another" assertion because, as far as I can see, you cannot possibly know that, as much as I do not know what proportion of the fanbase do care.

I don’t know as it was never an issue anyway, a leader of a party that could one day be in power visits Ipswich and certain people go crazy all bizarre.

So do you think the club should be used as a political vessel against a large proportion of the supporter base? All to further Ashton's own means. As it seems like you're saying that's ok

Anything in the world can be boiled down to its simplest form to make it seem trivial
Such as 'someone having photos at a football ground'. It's not particularly intelligent as condescending and above it as it may make you feel.

And you also know it's not as simple as 'political views' stop being so disingenuous

Another disingenuous poster who decides to either deliberately, or through ignorance, completely ignore the actual issues that people have.

Why are you so keen to force a culture wars narrative when you could actually engage with people who have a different opinion to you?

Seriously what is the point in you keep replying if you're not going to engage in any of the actual evidence or points of the matter, really is a waste of your life.

Don't take it personally. There are people (on both sides of the argument) who are determined to force this into an "us and them" culture wars narrative.

That is completely to the detriment to the real issue at hand, which is the erosion of trust in the leadership of our club and the division of our fans by those at the top.

It is, sadly, a reflection of the wider world we live in.

I keep switching between anger and sadness.

Anger at the initial stupidity that has damaged team and staff morale, risked the club's financial prospects, and led to widespread mockery of something we love; and at the subsequent lies which have alienated many fans and exacerbated the entire shitshow.

Sadness for how avoidable this all was; and that someone I thought was doing great things for the club and the town has now screwed that all up.

And then anger again at the lack of common decency shown by some supposed fans. To tell people who see the club cozying up to a political party that threatens to take away their rights to "move on" or dismiss their concerns as "lefty woke nonsense" is shocking. I've never been left-wing, and I see several others saying the same who are appalled. This jingoistic tribal support for anything that seemingly upsets the "other side" is utterly bizarre. We are all meant to be Ipswich Town fans.

It's natural enough to be upset by this, a very big mistake made and terrible handling by the Club, but we will move on. We really do need a game to help us move on too (not forget).  It's such a shame there's a long wait (anyone been sent to a shop on their first day to ask for one of these).  I do wonder if some people are now beginning to find ever new ways to be outraged, which is just prolonging the hurt for some. When Nunez hits a worldie in front of the North Stand you will remember why you love this Club, and you can't walk away from the Club you love (unless perhaps you weren't really in love in the first place!).  Hopefully, time's the healer for me anyways.
