It's not your club. It never was. We were here long before you, and we will certainly be here after you've gone. We just won't be here while you are still here. Have some decency and sod off.

He isn’t going anywhere. he has done far too much good - such as the training ground and new pitch. What happened was wrong, but it is done and the club apologised. We need him and not for the minority to try and force him out as that will put the club much further back. It is not a sackable offence.
If you feel you can’t attend games, that is understood but a large number don’t share this view

I'm wondering if it will finally sink in for Mark Ashton when the games restart.

If we believe this will fizzle out and we can move on, I think we're being naive as Birmingham, Norwich and others will have plenty to sing about and say.

This may be what embarrasses Ashton the most, if his ego lets him.

I understand that a proportion of people want to move on and others want to protest, but let's just hold fire on 'moving on' until we see if we are treated as a right wing apologist club by the opposition fans at every game this season. I can't see us having a collective response to their chants when it all kicks off. Maybe nothing will happen at all?

Whatever sides we sit on I think we can collectively agree, this episode will rumble on whether we like it or not. It's not in our hands.

Only of we let it. If we as fans didn’t keep going on about it, it wouldn’t be in everyone’s face. It was wrong and naive but we need to move on with the team and all Ashton is doing a the club. I am sure lessons have been learnt

Lessons have been learned?

Tell me one thing Ashton accepted he did wrong (from his apology) - one.

It’s been a few days - they will have better processes. And he has apologised. Protests and chants will do more harm than good and divide the crowd at a critical time and cause toxicity. we need to get behind the club. It will bring more unnecessary attention.

Any decisions on anyone’s position should be made by the Board not fans

I don’t like what happened, I hate it, and everything about Farage, but it’s happened and we need to move on. unless we want to ruin our chances of promotion which may very well happen

Any damage being done to club/player or staff morale is on Ashton, not the fans.

Your line is basically trying to blackmail dissenting fans to toe the line.

For 90 minutes when we play Brum I'd imagine every single fan in the stadium will be 100% behind the team - am sure they will.

Blackmail….harsh that
I’m just making a point that protests and chants will do more harm than good and we just need to move on and support the club, and that is the club as a whole.
I hope what you say is true and all are behind the team and I’m gutted I can’t make the game. I suspect the dissenting voices are a tiny majority in any event

"If we as fans didn’t keep going on about it, it wouldn’t be in everyone’s face."

The clear implication of that is that this is the fans fault for moaning...

And with respect, the clear inference is that we shouldn't be moaning.

Anyhow - not going to fall out - I genuinely hope everyone at the game gets behind the team.

I think for a lot of people to move on, as with many things in life, they need closure.

Unfortunately closure can only come from one place.

Which is within themselves…certainly not for heads to roll. Well they wont anyway - he wont go and it isn’t a sackable offence. And those who want him out i suspect is a very small minority - that doesn’t mean people don’t like what happened, but can forgive and see what is best for rhe club and all the good hw has done

Let’s get behind the club for. The brun game

I completely agree about getting fully behind the team. You will get no argument from me there.

You should change your name to Ostrich Blue. Keep burying your head in the sand to what Farage and Reform are about.

What's weird to me is that Farage (a vile, traitorous scumbag) is the Leader of one of the most popular political parties in the Country.
He could hold the balance of power at the next election or even be the majority party.
Just checked...Reform hold an 8 point lead over Labour.

And this is the reaction to his visit to our Club.

I'm really confused how a large part of the Country can find him the sort of person they want as PM
and we are appalled at him even being at Portman Road.

The bit you are not understanding (I think) - is people's anger is not largely because he visited our club, rather than the club lied to us, the fans.

The issue for me is the broken trust due to the club gaslighting us.

I'm not overly bothered at him going to Portman Rd. I am bothered he was allowed to use Portman Rd for a PR exercise.

Others will have their own issues (or not) but from the posts I've read, most people know speaking to Farage (like any politician) isn't unreasonable in itself.

I think the problem is that who Farage is and what he represents is not really the issue most of us have (in relation to the club.... clearly he is the only issue for some!), and focusing on that takes away from the real issue, which is entirely about trust and ITFC.

Making this all about Farage is an unwanted distraction and excuses the club far too easily.

A large number do share that view! You need to pick your lane, if it's only the minority then why are you so worried, stop trying to dictate to them what they should do.

Also any one eyed CEO could and would have done the same regarding the developments they were blindingly obvious, we just finally had the capital to do so. His one saving grace it has turned out to be is getting lucky with McKenna, and we've got no idea how much Ashton has pissed him off or not, I'd expect he's not very happy.
