They're the Manchester City of Politics. They are funded by money of dubious origin, and believe the rules don't apply to them.

The spending rules came into force yesterday. To give a bit of context... To print and post leaflets across Suffolk probably costs about £20-25,000. Reform have now done 3 in Suffolk alone, I think. That's because they're funded by a coaltion of billionaires and the likes of tobacco and oil companies. No party can compete with them financially: everyone else will have to distribute lealets themselves (with the very odd hyper-local exception). Sadly, ITFC have supported this effort as well. You won't actually meet your Reform candidate or Councillor in the run up to an election, of course.

I have two reform local councillors. One is a Tory defector, never seen him and he hasn't replied to me the one time I contacted him. The other won his seat in a by election. The greens and lib Dems were all over the place their candidates were highly visible. The reform chap put out a post on the village Facebook page. Still don't know what he looks like.

Yep, that's what normally happens. No local interest at all, then do nothing after they're elected. Unfortunately, few people vote on a genuinely local level.

Donations from oil and tobacco are jot as much as you would like to tell us. Reform receives the majority from wealthy individuals linked to the finance and property industries, some based overseas. Many donors have switched from the Conservative party. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

You can be pretty confident their approach to the role, if elected, will be the same as that to their campaigning too. The Green party candidates work really hard around here after being elected and have done a fantastic job in local government.

Overseas donors, what a joke. And people actually vote for this grift?

One person's overseas donor. Another's foreign backer. His interests are certainly not to serve the UK people's.
