'Ashton out chants' 15:26 - Apr 2 with 5015 viewsdan1878_

I cannot beleive that with 8 games to go people are going to try get 'we want Ashton out' chants going. The atmosphere this season has been pretty flat especially compared to other seasons. Also when Marcus Evans was killing the club there was not this much commotion and people trying to start protests, when real change was needed.

Ashton has made a mistake apolgised for it but instead of moving on with our lives people want to destroy the person who has changed our club and transformed us to levels I did not think we would reach.

If people want to make an impact monday sing for the whole 90 minutes and get behind the players. There are far more worse things in the world happening right now.

Sorry, edited my post while you were answering.

Its statistical logic may be flawed, it's not looking good from what I have seen so far.

But "rubbish in - rubbish out" is my perspective. The data you are asking it to address is not good data, sorry.

Anyway, please don't argue with me - it becomes an opinion if the statistical side is poor: you are suggesting it's 2/3, I am saying it is not, is all. A statistically-significant and important number, yes, but not 2/3, not even 2/3 here on TWTD.

(I didn't say "overreaching", not that that appears relevant to what I am saying)

"from what I have seen so far" - is what you've seen so far a secret? Are you a beta tester for ChatGPT 5.5 and if you told us, you'd breach NDA with OpenAI?

Gav, be interested on your take on the quantity of:
""
alts / alternative accounts / "socks"
""
Presumably you'd see patterns of same accounts being used from the same client devices/IPs. Don't expect you to take sides in any of this, but just facts would be illuminating.

A flawed poll of small numbers is still a flawed poll.

Gav, do as you will :)

heading to div list, or maybe you should "calm down" ?

We are on the same side in this argument, but maybe you have lost sight of that, or never had that sight ... idk

Not what the best of silicon valley says of the confidence interval KBsocks. But on the other hand, you used the words "socks" and "small", so now I don't know what to think.

Polls become an opinion if the statistical side is poor: suggesting something is 2/3 whatever based on a small sample size is a hide into nothing.

It might inform further investigation, it might be broadly true, but it is not authoritative.

And those socks only vote one way? Gotcha.

News to ChatGPT 5.4 these are worthless polls. Perhaps you should inform OpenAI its statistical logic is flawed. They'd probably pay you handsomely.

Questions are biased in all six? You're overreaching. Some are very simple yes/no.

I am sorry. I have a very strong opinion that I think it is important that Ashton leaves the club as soon as practicable. However, these polls really are very difficult to trust. There are so many factors at play. The total population of Town fans is much higher than the 30000.

I think it is reasonable to assume the desire for Ashton to leave is certainly not abating and is quite possibly increasing.

I also think it appears the club is going to ride this out until Monday and see the impact on match day revenues etc. If it is hitting in the pocket and if corporate sponsors are making a fuss then they will have to listen. If it isn't and they have decided it is all an overreaction to a perfectly innocent act then they will probably try to ride it out. That scenario is likely to prove very messy, divisive and damaging for the club.

I feel like he has been challenged and he has come out an apologised. Always get one chance with things like this for me. if it keeps happening then more questions can be asked but it is the first time this happened.

Ffs that wasn't an apology

"I feel like he has been challenged and he has come out an apologised." - what has he apologised for?

"Always get one chance with things like this for me." - No issue with that. However, I would just point out that the Club denied they had anything to do with the visit, hadn't made it known to staff, players, sponsors or even the owners, then doubled down, then lied and obfuscated, then failed to mention a lunch and finally, as a result, Reform have weaponised the Club as part of it's promotion campaign. Then, an apology - which isn't really an apology as it doesn't take any accountability or ownership (see my first question) How many 'chances' would you like Ashton to have?

For me, I don't want success at any cost but that's just my position - everyone is different.

No, those sample sizes are a hiding to only between 7% to 10% either side of what the poll results say.

Can you point me towards that apology because all I have seen is one where he says "I am sorry that some fans are hurting" framed in the further context of "but there are a lot of mistruths out there."

Imagine if I ran over my neighbour's cat (deliberately by-the-way) and when they challenged me over it I told them I didn't do it. Imagine they then told me they had watched another neighbour's doorbell footage of me running it over so I said "I am sorry that you are upset about your cat getting run over. There are a lot of mistruths out there." Would you expect my neighbour to be happy with that apology?

Very good analogy Nthsuffolkblue. Ashton is taking us for a small "element" of snowflakes, who are outside the bubble that is his current affairs echo chamber, so don't really exist in significant numbers in his reality. Condescending and ignorant.

One of the reasons why the atmosphere is flat is due to Ashton not giving a damn about it. If he was, Blue Action would be giving more encouragement and treated better.

Ashton out.

Not convinced on this. BA moved to A block and that is when the atmosphere took a nose dive as that stand is awful for acoustics and the other stands, including north, are pretty quiet. The responsibility for creating an atmosphere lies with us, the fans and we are pretty bloody useless
