That's very out of character for you, Sitters. To be fair, I thought it was a perfectly reasonable question. Effectively, which matters more to you, instant, short-lived success on the pitch or the long-term good of the club?

I also believe that’s it’s a reasonable question but obviously could’ve been more options. Hmm, Ashton has been good for the club IMO, I’m not sure many would disagree? Looking at the bigger picture, you could say this was his first big mistake here? Quite a few mistakes to make it one big one, but we do all make them - does he really deserve to get the chop for it? Not sure. Depends if he can genuinely learn from it, I think it would be good for a new chairman to be appointed though, just someone to keep him in check really. [Post edited 2 Apr 22:13]

The other options are obvious, though. Unless you are a raving pro-Farage supporter who thinks the club should be promoting your own views, you will want Aston gone and promotion. No one will want Ashton staying and us to stay down. Can you imagine that? Ashton sacks McKenna for failing and then appoints without any oversight. Right now, that appears a distinct possibility unless the club remove Ashton or at the very least appoint a very good chairman.

Please don't - the worst of all options, maybe ?

I had my say about 8 days ago, no point in keep repeating it ad nauseam. It's up to each individual what they want to do. I just want to concentrate on football now.

It "appears a distinct possibility" that "Ashton sacks McKenna for failing"?!? Any evidence for this?

"you could say this was his first big mistake here" - have you seen most of our major signings in the past 19 months sitters? They aren't in the first team. [Post edited 3 Apr 9:11]

Ashton is a competent CEO but it was an error of judgement to appoint him as Chairman as now there is no one to rein him in or stop him making mistakes. An independent chairman would have vetoed getting mixed up with Reform. If Ashton is man enough to fully admit total responsibility, step down as Chairman but remain as CEO I would be happy with that. If he isn’t kick him out. ps Congratulations Sitters for finding an original question to ask.

Sorry if I'm being a bit thick here, but which major signings are you talking about?
