Is the general feeling that we’ll take the buy outright option regardless of achieving promotion or not ?
My understanding it’s £4.5 for a 3 year on promotion but I personally feel we’re going to buy him whatever and wherever and I feel he’d take up the option.

I really hope not.

He's good value at that, and he's done well at this level, both defensively and pushing forward and some excellent, incisive passing too. So yes. But I still think Greaves is the better option, and I'm a little concerned that he hasn't got much game time this season. Greaves can do things that Kipre can't but his decision making has been flaky at times - something that would definitely be ironed out with game time, slow burner though he may be.

Kippers is a bargain at £4.5m though, it's just a bit awkward if we go up, where ideally I'd want a new LCB with Greaves as a still developing back up.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

Yep going up … I’d see him as a good solid backup not necessarily in the first choice starting xi.
Greaves has only impressed me when playing in Leif’s position .. so I’m again thinking a solid backup with him … saying that Leif himself I’m not convinced after his season in the prem where he kind of did how we all expected…if anything I’d forget using him as any kind of defender.

I can’t see any reason why we wouldn’t? In the championship a top player, would be decent back up in the premier.

A bargain at £4.5 m even we we sold him straight away for a profit.

The only Muff in Town.

Greaves really lacks physicality in key moments. How often does he end up on the ground when under pressure? In the prem these days, you need strength as a starting point.

Indeed, I think he’d do better on the left of a back three, or even as an anchor man in defensive midfield. He has so many fabulous attributes, I don’t think it’s a surprise that his best performances have come when playing left back, where he has more opportunity to show off some of his strengths.

You’re not making profit off £4.5m on a 29 year old centre half who’s spent most of his career playing Championship football, and the 1 decent move he gets in his career they ship him off after 12 months.

He's an okay championship centre half who’s had some good games for us. Prem or Championship football next season I’d honestly be hoping for better. IMHO, of course.

He does, but that's not a lack of inherent strength in my opinion, rather a lack of experience / decision making as to how and when to make challenges. When I used to play centre back, I used to consistently beat bigger, taller, heavier attackers by contact timing and weight distribution. Greaves has height which helps for aerial stuff and pace, but he's not quite there with his weight distribution in the tackle for me sometimes, and that's something he can add with experience, and maybe a little extra bulk. Experience which he's not getting at the moment.
