One glorious day in the summer of 1990 me and some student mates were having a pre-world cup kickabout in Pearson Park, Hull. A bunch of spotty oiks challenged us to a game: first one to concede 10 gets the beers in.
Game lasted about 10 minutes, each kick off leading directly to a goal.
Hull City players, they then admitted.

I’d bring my dog along to oblige, and make sure his breakfast beforehand was mixed with a cup of water - makes his 💩 rather ‘loose’ and very smelly :) |  |

I can't remember the poster's username but many years ago on this forum there was a tale about how Jimmy Robertson would get off the bus on his way home from the training ground and join in with the kickabouts on the green (I think this may have been Nacton Road Rivers estate way.) I suppose those kickabouts are something we have to thank Colin Viljoen and his selfish car habits for not giving any players a lift back to their front door for. |  |
