| Injury situation 08:53 - Apr 7 with 1351 views | Steve_M | This seems our biggest risk at the moment, McKenna certainly hinted that a lot of players aren't properly fit at the moment and it certainly looked that way in yesterday's second half. Jaden has been well off the pace in his cameos since injury, Nunez had some good moments but faded badly in the second half and I'm sure the intent wasn't to play Neill for 90 minutes given how little football he's had. Add in injuries to Azon and Matusiwa and it looks a bit difficult - and I think that explains some of the issues in the second half yesterday. Not the continual giving the ball away under little pressure though, that was just annoying. On the plus side, we have a big squad and big contributions from Greaves, Johnson and McAteer over the last few games have been important for the team and also them as individuals. | |

| Injury situation on 08:56 - Apr 7 with 1307 views | Herbivore | It's a worry as we head into a run of 7 games in 21 days. We've used the squad well over the season but getting to the business end with a number of players not fully fit isn't ideal. Hopefully the depth will help to get us over the line but I think we're going to be crawling over the finishing line rather than cantering home. | |

| Injury situation on 09:03 - Apr 7 with 1234 views | BlueMoon | I see what you mean but then we've got a bigger squad than most and have been using it well so far. To name a few: Johnson & Greaves for Davis; Neil, Taylor, Cajuste in midfield. Egelli for the 10; McAteer on the right. Azon & Akpom up front. For me this is where we could / should make the squad depth count. We've got more games than some but lots of teams are in a similar boat see Middlesbrough with Hackney as an example. | | | |

That's not strictly true, being pedantic. We have a 25-man squad limit (excluding U21s), same as everybody else. What Town does possess is greater depth of quality in the available players.

| Injury situation on 10:10 - Apr 7 with 1009 views | bluefunk | This is likely a situation that a lot of teams are facing at the business end of the season, key players playing through injuries, or only able to play limited minutes, Rodoni at Coventry for example. We can only hope the squad depth plays to our advantage. | | | |
| Injury situation on 10:16 - Apr 7 with 963 views | FrimleyBlue | My worry at the moment is we're bringing Philogene on who's not actually being a positive sub imo. Not his fault he's clearly a long way off match fitness but are we wise to be bringing him on in such an unfit state. His injury itself is fine as he can get stuck in, but he's incredibly slow and even his quick feet are slow which isn't great for someone like him whos trick is quick feet, spin and go. | |

Every team has the same size squad apart from U21s. Boro can’t cope without Whittaker and Hackney; we can cope without Jaden and Leif.

It's not an excuse, just an observation after yesterday.

| Injury situation on 11:48 - Apr 7 with 648 views | _CliveBaker_ | We're going to see a load of rotation over the next 3 weeks, understandably. I think we might end up with a weekend side for Norwich, Boro, West Brom and midweek side for Pompey, Charlton & Saints effectively. Interesting to see if a well rested Davis comes straight back in at Norwich, I expect he will. Hopefully Matusiwa is fit as we need him. Neil and Taylor to rotate, Mehmeti and Nunez, McAteer and Burns and Clarke and Philogene. Hopefully Azon too with Hirst. | | | |

I agree. Although neither have uprooted trees this season. Obviously from past games we are better starting with Philogene and Nunez with Clarke and Memeti replacing them on 70 minutes. I think the Philogene, Clarke combo has worked better than Clarke then Philogene. But whether Philogen can give us 70 minutes at the moment is debatable. Against the Budgies I see Memeti starting and Nunez coming on later. Maybe Johnson might start and Davis on late or vice versa. Also Kipre may start and Greaves on later. We have an enormous amount of permutations although if promoted we may need an upgrade on some in the current squad.

My understanding is Town have only take up 24 slots of the 25 man squad allocation , and one of those is occupied by the still injured Ashley Young. I questioned in January why did we keep him registered , when a player of his age was reportedly out with a "serious hip injury". So effectively we are battling away with a 23 man squad, not 25.
