Norwich: coach travel arrangements 11:03 - Apr 7 with 3697 viewsDJR

Anyone heard about the arrangements for coach travel to Norwich in the sense of timing and coach allocation?

I need to book a train to Ipswich from Kent, so it would be nice to know when I need to get there.

Believe I saw on the initial message from ITFC that the coaches will leave at 9am, you will be allocated a coach and you pick ticket up on coach.

I haven’t seen anything since, was aiming to get to Portman Road for 8.30

Many thanks.

As it is, it will be the first time I've been on a coach since the Man City FA Cup semi-final, having not lived in Ipswich for well over 40 years.

Thought we might get the info today. Would be nice to know what time and what coach to head for

As below I had heard 9am for the departure time though.

I think things have been complicated by the need for separate coaches for Ashton Out and Ashton In fans.

No problem there because surely all of the Ashton out ones will be empty?

Still nothing from the club.

Am I right to assume the coaches leave from the car park behind the old East Stand, and what used to be the Cattle Market?

This may be common knowledge so I’ll enquire here rather than start a new thread.

Is there any designated away pubs on Saturday? Or just a case of packing out the concourse early on?

Why are they leaving at 9am for a 12:30 kick off in Norwich?

It is 9 but surely they’re going to put a proper email out to us all?

Seems a bit poor we haven’t had anything like that yet.

probs nothing to do with the club but I did hear somewhere that Greater Anglia announced they won’t have enough buses to cope with the rail closure..guess that’s because the club has nabbed all the spare coaches locally..

No not normally. Usually pick-up behind the North Stand these days - though there's supposedly 16 going so whether they would all fit there I would be doubtful

Not sure anything is designated but in previous years The Townhouse has been full of town fans so would assume same again.

1.5 hours to get there and park. (on a coach, with additional A140 traffic, with all the faffing about there will inevitably be before we actually get off the coaches).

2 hours to rampage around Norwich. Or be walked straight to the ground.

Do the fun bus occupants have to collect tickets from Clarence Road? Might also find they get pulled over at Dunstan and made to wait for the other coaches, as Norfolk plod insist on escorting the coaches from there to Clarence Road

No idea, probably going to take a long time to sort out who is in which coach.

Either that or the buses are stopping for a Greggs in Diss.

Got to be more than 7, it will be the first time I have been on a supporters bus, since Plymouth away in the late 80’s.
