Birmingham lost £34m in their L1 promotion season 14:36 - Apr 8 with 1059 viewstractorboy1978

With a net spend on fees of £21m and a wage bill of £33.7m (£14m higher than ours in our promotion season). This year will undoubtedly look worse. Could be a very different summer for them this year as they've accumulated a squad on big wages without a great deal of 'trading value' that doesn't look like being good enough to get them where they want to be. I can't imagine they are going to have a great deal of maneuverability in the market this summer.

And almost a quarter of their revenue was from their stadium naming rights coming from their own companies.

A few years of championship stagnation will surely derail their 60k stadium plans.

Hope they fall flat on their 6rses (as long as there's still a club at the end of it) – their owners steamed into this season thinking they'd break the Championship and it just so happens that it isn't especially easy for anybody. If they don't go up next year I think they'll have a problem.

(Should add that I wish Tom Wagner well following his recent health issues, which are entirely separable from the sentiments above!)

It could work the other way in that minimal turnover of players could lead to a greater understanding and connections on the pitch, like us in the Championship promotion.

I’m sure they’ll be able to cook the books Chelsea style or slip a little envelope or two to the right people.

I can already hear Fred Dibnah honking his horn as those chimneys collapse.

I wasn't convinced by their summer dealings tbh, so not too surprised it hasn't worked out.

Shame.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Oh dear

How sad

Never mind

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Oh, don't worry, as someone who knows the career of that stadium designer Thomas Free very, very well, the stadium as shown in those renders, with those chimneys, will never be built.
