In the last five games ... 07:54 - Apr 23 with 823 viewsSomethingBlue

We've turned two deficits into wins, equalised twice against promotion rivals and gritted out a massive derby win against the division's form team. And yes, we've dropped a stinker at Pompey. Overall it suggests the team's character is coming to the fore at the right time, contrary perhaps to some of the vibes one can pick up from supporters.

Going to take some effort to win one of the next two – these are going to be more long, tough and draining games I'm afraid – but I'd cautiously suggest the resilience seems to be there.

This group doesn’t have any b0ll0x though.

Although West Brom are in really good form, there will surely be a minor drop-off in intensity from them this weekend having all but sealed their safety. You'd hope so, anyway.

Resilience will be the name of the game on Saturday too. Players need to rest and recuperate well today and be ready for war in 48 hours.

The Baggies play a very simple 4-4-2 system right now. Probably suits us in many ways if we can get our #10 linking up properly between the lines. They'll no doubt adopt a man-for-man press too.

Yes, it's the stage of the season where the ability to pull out results really counts. Plenty of occasions where we can rue stupid points dropped that would have made us more comfortable but we're not going away and we've put some pressure back on Millwall for Friday.

Six points needed from three games. We've been here before haven't we?

still a long way to go, but we're finding new ways to win, which is great to have in your armoury at this stage of the season

I'm hoping their recent form means they'll be confident in playing an expansive game against us, rather than just sitting in a low block. That will suit us more, as long as they don't excell at a high press, our passing frailties means we also struggle with that, sometimes.

God, I hate this time of year! It's so hard to concentrate on the positives, when you're just a bundle of nerves, all the time! Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather we're in this position, than fighting for the coveted 15th position but it makes for anxious times. If it comes off, it be worth it...if it comes off, it be worth it...if it comes off, it be worth it...if it comes off, it be worth it...etc.

If it comes off, will definitely be worth it. A second chance in two seasons to pit ourselves against the Prem - but better prepared this time. At worst a major boost to the club's finances, at best the chance to consolidate our foothold in the top tier and push on in the future.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

It was always inane nonsense but so many people must feel so ashamed now.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?
