I feel Umbro have dressed us well over this memorable spell for the club. Just hope we don't go back to Adidas!

It used to be a league requirement but with the advent of the PL, it was deemed appropriate that each team should be able to wear their traditional colours wherever possible. Some teams however, continued to alternate their shorts for such a colour clash. Town did until very recently. Colour clashes for socks have been a thing since the 70s - think sock colours are considered more of an issue than shorts. No idea why. |
Pretty obvious no? You see a white sock poke the ball out of play, you want to know which team it is? :D Adidas please. Trefoil logo. Retro kits. The dream. [Post edited 24 Apr 10:36]

Actually, that does sound pretty obvious. Doh. Retro tends to mean boring and lazy.

Adidas have a tier system where only tier one sides get 'special' kits. I think Villa recently got upgraded to that when they got into Europe. We're not going with them (as I said before, it's Umbro), but if we did, we'd definitely only get templates. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That's interesting as there seem to be fewer clubs than ever wearing their proper colours, mainly to market their second, third and sometimes fourth kits.
