Run towards adversity and give every ounce of effort for the next 3 games! Play with passion and pride and the results will take care of themselves.

I couldn’t give a s#it about any of it. I want the team to win and that’s all that matters.
| Jason Schechterle on 10:45 - Apr 24 with 808 views | nrb1985 | Fck me if professional footballers need a motivational talk to get up for the last 3 games of a promotion run in we are really in trouble. Also, as somebody else has said, run towards adversity is laughable after that cowardly weasel's non apology. | | | |

You really are missing the point, it’s a kick up the arse for the players following some of their shocking performances this season. Christ get over Ashton, are you seriously bothered still?
| Jason Schechterle on 10:50 - Apr 24 with 770 views | jayessess | Think he's been over a few times to address players post-2024. Not to be dismissive at all about the kind of work Jason Schechterle does but the impact of inspirational speakers is one of those things that is very contextual. Sometimes you are in a group and a place where it has a big impact and makes you think and feel certain things, sometimes that isn't the case. It's probably not one of those things where you can just go back to the same speaker and get a "re-up" on the same thoughts and feelings. [Post edited 25 Apr 7:27]

The venn diagram of (1) people who say "everyone should move on and get behind the lads" and (2) people who don't really support the players at all is just a circle.

I don't think there's any evidence of a lack of pride or passion. People need to get real a little bit, its a tough division that gets stronger by the season, and every opponent is well organised and well equipped. We've got a good squad for the level but I think some people over hype that at times. Walton, Davis, Hirst, Burns are all players we signed in L1, Taylor came in from Peterborough, Dan Neil has had 3 seasons at this level and never finished higher than 4th, Nunez has had 3 seasons with 2 mid table finishes and a 6th, Furlong's spent most of his career in the middle of the Championship, so has Mehmeti, Ivan's only ever played 2nd tier. I'm not saying we shouldn't hope and maybe expect to outpace squads like Millwall and Middlesbrough, but were it not possible for them to do it we never would've been promoted in 2024. It happens, we'll lose games. We've had 1 season in the premier league in the past 25 years and some of our fans talk like we're Man City. If it was easy to come down and brush everyone aside I'm sure Leicester and Southampton would've done it themselves. We've lost once in the last 12, we've pretty much averaged 2 points per game since the end of August. I think they deserve a bit more credit, we've spent some money but nothing is given. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Also - "let's give a kick up the arse for poor performances" to a group of players who sit second in the league, with a game in hand and three to play. Genius. One of the stupidest things I've seen said on here and the competition has been high in recent weeks.

Blows my mind tbh. If we win on Saturday we've got 1 foot in the Premier League. We would also have form of 8 wins, 4 draws, 1 defeat over the past 13 games. 1/4 of a season at a 99 points a season run rate, yet some of our fans still think we're shit. It's delusional. Its a fooking slog, more teams don't bounce straight back than do, and most of them have won more than 4 premier league games in the past 25 years.

Indeed. We should be thankful we didn't do a Leicester, Sunderland or Luton, and be especially excited we have a very good chance of getting second.

Well quite. I also think, following Johnson's angst ridden, calamitous pass vs. Charlton, probably the last thing these guys need is "geeing up" any further. A nice massage with some pan pipes is probably more in order tbh.

Its just a lazy soundbite innit. 'We lack passhun'. We went to Norwich a fortnight ago and fooked them on their own patch, I didn't see a lack of passion that day.
