Transferred for a Championship record fee, jumping up in playing standard massively, being away from family and friends for the first time ever, away from everything you know or have ever known and dropped into a squad of ridiculous attacking talent after having ZERO pre-season with us, just straight into a promotion battle. Then imagine after just 8 months into a 5 (FIVE) year contract, some of the fan base have already written you off as an expensive mistake and suggesting you will be sold or loaned out never to be seen again. Sindre is a project, he is highly rated and big things are expected of him. Let's give him a minute to find his feet and have a good pre-season given all he's dealt with in his start to life at Town. Yeah? No one should suggest he is going to tear the Premier League apart, but he's got all the hallmarks of coming good as he builds the physicality required for this league and beyond.

Keep him in that squad. [Post edited 5 May 12:14]

I can't see a loan that is particularly constructive in this country, and I don't see the mileage in him going abroad for a loan, whereas there's potential to make really big strides and grow into life here in the PL. Not sure I can fully justify that logically, but that's the feeling I get. |
Keep him here until January then revisit it.

Just look at the players written off by some before. Jack Clarke, Jaden Philogene, Jack Taylor and of course Kasey McAteer. It seems few have something known as patience any more. instant success or you're a liability. Most people wouldn't even have the stomach to move countries by themselves at his age, never mind everything else that comes with it. Give the lad a break and let him come good in his own time.

| Sindre Walle-Egeli on 14:23 - May 4 by DanTheMan | I think he could do with a long loan where he gets to play week in, week out. But that's only because I think the PL is going to be too big of a jump. You're right, he's a project. |
My worry with loaning him out is that we have no control over where he plays as I don’t think RW is his position. I think he would be better staying put rather like City did with Foden a few years back, so our coaches can develop him into the role that we think best suits him

Here's where the examples you use differ from Egeli. They've all had experience at CL level before we bought them. Clarke and Philogene were top Championship players and McAteer had a promotion under his belt. These guys are different. I have no problem showing patience, but Egeli has actually got worse during the season. I thought he showed glimpses of real talent in the first month or two, but didn't kick on and his confidence seemed to drain away. He could get naturally stronger and come good. However, I don't think we can just say be patient and it will happen. We've got to try and get him on some path where he improves and I can't see him being a PL level RW or a 10. I'd try and get him a loan to somewhere where he feels comfortable ( like back in Scandinavia) where he can develop his game and just get physically stronger.

| Sindre Walle-Egeli on 14:09 - May 4 by CastroSito | He has shown nothing to suggest he is the standard we will require to stay in the prem. A lovely story, but it's a cut throat game. He should be loaned out and we can see where things are in 12 months. |
No manager would decide that now! He’ll be looked at and worked with in preseason and then KM will decide the best path for progression. Young players either suddenly turn it on or turn it off. A key part of management is supporting them to get the best out of them. Writing a lad off before pre season is hardly going to do that.

He is going to have a big future and he needs to stay and develop 'our game' not someone else's style of play which then may be more difficult for him to translate back into Ipswich. He probably expects to come off the bench more but I think he needs to stay
