Extending the Championship to eight clubs next season makes it even more ridiculous.

The playoffs have been in place for decades - Rochdale and all the others knew the system and so can have no complaints about that. If they held on against York they would’ve gone up automatically but they couldn’t. |  | | |

Very true - but still can't help but think they're something of a money spinning farce, as much as I am a hypocrite by watching them. Mind you, when a team in sixth can possibly qualify for the "Champions" League, it just sums up football in general. | |

I like the Serie B play off concept that if the team in third is more than 14 (used to be 9) points ahead of the team in fourth, then the third placed team is promoted and there are no play offs. [Post edited 10 May 18:51]
