So Jose back to Real Madrid..... 16:24 - May 12 with 971 viewsBloots

....Marco Silva to Benfica as his replacement.

Who goes into Fulham?

Tommy Frank? Stevie G? Roy The Boy Hodgson? Full Kit Simons?

Any other potentials?

Frank makes probably the most sense but would he go to another West London club?

....none of them really seem to have any rivalry with each other.

I guess that's because Chelsea hate Spurs and don't really care about the others.

Could be good, I keep thinking Fulham are due a relegation battle.

I think for clubs like Fulham and Palace the question with McKenna isn't "do we think he would be a good fit/up to it" - it's probably more the case of "in a shortlist of potential managers is he worth the £8m release fee and really high wages compared with the others?"

As I understand it you can't amortise the release fee over a period of time so the £8m hits your accounts straight away. You also can't 'sell-on' the manager at a later date.

I guess you can sell a manager, by getting compensation when they leave.

But they dont tend to last that long.

Genuine question, is that actually a problem for any PL club?

I can only find 11 examples of clubs paying more than £2m in compensation for a manager. This is the likes of Potter to Chelsea and Nagelsman to Bayern.

Probably the 'lowest' examples I could find were Leicester paying £8m to get Rodgers out of Celtic in 2019 and Everton paying £5m to get Koeman from Southampton.

Clubs probably can afford to but why lose that dead money if you can get someone of the same sort of calibre without the fee?

Perhaps if the Fulham board were prepared to give him a bit more freedom than he had at Palace then Glassner ?
