Hotel bookings for the World Cup below expectations... 17:25 - May 21 with 578 viewsBlueBadger

....in every US host city.

Who'd have thought that open displays of greed, hostility to anyone a bit non-white and starting illegal wars and propping up genocide would make you unpopular?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

They've also neglected to mention whether they've tried offering the rooms at anything other than the extortionate rates that they were originally charging.

Don't think its racial, just greed. Looked at going, was quote £845.00 each to watch England v Ghana. Plus Hotels were cancelled so they could up the price. Bullocks going to watch on tv.

Was it on here or did I hear on the radio if someone wanted to follow England all the way to ahem the final it would cost £14,000?

Well done ROI for boycotting this World Cup (again)!

It’s the same in Canada and we embrace everyone.

The general feeling here is that FIFA overinflated the expected tourism levels.

But paying four figures to watch group games from the nosebleeds is a big turn off too.

A big problem was the dynamic pricing, FIFA block booked rooms, so the price goes through the roof, fans say no, FIFA cancel bookings but fans have already been put off by the extortionate prices, so are not going back in for the lower priced rooms.

Dynamic pricing is capitalism on steroids. I'm not a fan, effectively prices the less well off out of doing things that might be popular.

Which is the same as saying it cost 50k to go to the superbowl, or 1k for the Fa Cup final. Yes those ticket prices exist, but you can do it for alot less.

The people I know who are going to see all of England's group games with options for knockout round tickets Inc the final if they get there have paid maybe 10k tops so far on average and thats only because one guy wanted to do hospitality, and they might expect to pay 5k more to to do it all. Depending on flights, hotels etc.
