Rumours of Gary O’Neil being clubs initial preferred replacement if McKenna were to go - don’t think he would be a bad choice in all fairness

Just so we're clear. You think McKenna has stiffed us to make sure we didn't get the release clause that he agreed to in his contract?

No one is going to know the full story but I don't think the OP is far from the truth in his statement that McKenna wanted to go to Fulham - it feels like his agents definitely put feelers out via Alex Crook.

It doesn't mean than Kieran 'stiffed' us, he was just looking after his own career ( I'm of the belief a potential 2/2 relegations on his CV was the biggest factor in him not staying) and between him and the club decided the 'break' was the best move for both parties - what with Fulham being one of those clubs who could fall into a relegation fight with a poor appointment, we were also right in digging our heels in and not facilitating an easy move.

As for Gary O Neill I choose to ignore that stuff in the hope it goes away ugh...

"Feels" is not facts.

Why on earth would his agents put out feelers to a talksport journo (and no-one else) when they could just call up Fulham directly?!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Yeah, its a discussion forum and this is obviously just my own take on what I think happened.

Um, for starters I haven't said I'm right on anything. I've just said there's no proof he's right. Secondly, why on earth would I accept he knows something until Gary O'Neil is here?

He never said he would be here, just that he is a potential replacement and immediate national reporting seems to corroborate that. This stuff isn’t too difficult

Before they got Clement, O'Neil was a favourite for the Norwich job.

Many Norwich fans were very unconvinced by him and I was hoping he might go there as i could see him taking Norwich down to L1. I can't believe 8 months later he's now favourite to be our next manager. And that's after we've been promoted to the PL.

Surely this job is seen as a top job. It's PL. How can O'Neil get overlooked for the Norwich job when they're desperate to stay in the Championship and yet he's now favourite after we've been promoted?
