Doesn't help me get head round it though. But that's on me, not Mr.McKenna.

The sensible side of my mind is saying "he has achieved more aged 35-40 than most managers do in a 30 year career, so he deserves a break and a recharging of the batteries"

He might feel he is already years ahead of his personal goals. I wish him nothing but success in his life from this point - providing he starts working again in 12months, and hasn't pulled a fast one (which i cant for one moment imagine he has)
