He's way too old for the sort of manager that Ashton wants. Ashton will want someone who initially will be a yes man, rather than someone who is a big fish in their pond, such as at Bodo/Glimt. I like the look of him however, who obviously had plans and strategies to pick off some of Europe's big names in the Champions League. However, there is something that feels quite Ipswich about him.
He speaks well, he's been fiercely loyal to his project, he's happy with a quieter life up in the Arctic Circle etc etc

I agree. There's something very Ipswich about him. Like it that he shows tactical nous in Europe but also likes to play some free flowing stuff. We are going to need to adapt to the opposition every game this year, but because so many mid level teams are playing in Europe this year, we will have chances to nick points, and we will have entire weeks to train for specific games. | | | |
