Berlin roll-call 14:07 - Jun 26 with 9454 viewsZx1988

Granted it's still six weeks away, but it's hardly going to be one of those spontaneous 'wake up and see if you fancy it' sort of friendlies.

Who's going?

….but probably, yes.

Had other plans that weekend, need to let some people down.

Nothing new there.

Planning to make a long weekend of it; Friday to Monday.

6am out of Norwich, arriving Berlin at 11:15 via Amsterdam. Leave Berlin about 7pm Monday evening, getting back to Norwich about 10:30.

Just waiting on the annual leave.

Flight booked, hotel today, just selecting atm. Any tips? Go to be back to work Monday, so it’s a Thursday to Sunday job. Thought a WW2 and Bowie tour during the day. What’s the ticket arrangement, on the door?

Out Thurs am frm LCY, back Mon. Staying in the DoubleTree just off Ku'damm.

2 must visits include https://curry-chili.de/ to see how far up the scale I can do, plus a return visit to https://brauhaus-spandau.de/ which has been memorably fun on previous occasions (yeah, yet another brewery / restaurant combo, but I like it...).

Obvs, the match too...

No idea yet. Union are billing it as their 'season opener', so I don't know what attendance will be like.

Town are advising ticket information will be released next month.

If you want somewhere central for the sights and close to excellent transport links (s-bahn and u-bahn) look around Potsdamer Platz. Loads of places to eat around there and less then 10 min walk to Brandenburg Gate and the Riechstag, Checkpoint Charlie not a long walk either. We stayed at Grand Hyatt and was very nice.

It looks like terracing if they open that bit of course.

Based on what BerlinerBlue has said, and the expectation of a home sell-out, I would imagine that all areas will be open.

If we're given the away block (Sektor 5), it'll be 100% terracing, with a capacity of just under 2,500.

Full details are here:

They're in German, but you can probably get the gist. I really like how they provide full measurements to assist with any Tifos that away fans want to do.

Here's a slightly better view of the away block:

A little pricey by German standards, but really can't argue with £4.50 for a stadium pint.
