I manually added the QR code from my season ticket to my Google Wallet last season and it worked a treat. I suspect that for 90% of people having it on their phone will work really well practically even if there's a sentimental attachment to a physical card.
It will be supporting the 10% who can't use it for whatever reason that will be important. Venues like the o2 have been doing this for a quite a while so it can work. | |

But don't worry you'll still be able to buy a bottle of beer, that will be a beer in a single use plastic bottle. But a plastic season ticket used 20 times is apparently bad for the environment. Personal opinion. I just don't like how technology is forced on us.
Everything these days seems to be about self-serving, rather than receiving customer service. Usually to increase company profits. Look at all the banks that have closed as an example.
While I agree technology can be useful, it should be a choice. Also, our kids are addicted to their phones etc. which isn't a good thing. | | | |

Cling onto the past? Pah then I want a booklet of individually numbered vouchers that I tear out game by game and hand to a turnstile operator who wishes me a good game lol
We've only had plastic cards since about the 2000s.might have been 2001 but theyre hardly old fashioned
And fwiw yes having spent over £500 on something I would prefer something physical to have as a keepsake of that transaction.
There are generations who now will reach their later life and not have physical tickets that will trigger their memories of those times, they wont even have the phone they used anymore . That to me is not progress for humankind. | | | |
