My point was that there's never been a direct quote stating that they'll expand the West Stand - they've looked at it as an option but never committed to it. |
There's never been a statement that we're no longer planning to expand the seating capacity either. Ashton is plonking a permanent-looking single story structure in the way of where expansion would take place. [Post edited 10 Jul 14:48]

I saw them briefly but I think I thought it was just gonna be turnstiles added to stand not building out this far!

In the picture, about half of the gap between the current back of the stand and the line of fences bordering the works will be the extension. The other half is a new road that will be how fans access the new turnstiles (the brown bit on the right side of the photo) | | | |

Yes - that's true. It may well be that they've decided the cost/benefit of progressing with that as an option isn't worth it.
I think on some of these topics Ashton might do better just not saying anything but then he'd be accused of not engaging on topics fans want to hear about! | |

Gavin's window is filthy.
I think as the structure is a pre-fabricated one the turnstiles will be bolted down and connected to electrical and patched into the server first and then the structure built around it. The West Stand is closed for both Pre-Season friendlies, so guess they have until the 17th August (ish) to complete, which will allow time to test everything. |  |
