Most of the stuff in royal palaces is I gather, gifts. Whether they are gifts under duress and stolen stuff I’ve no idea.
The Americans and the French have a lot of giving back to do and as for Spain and Portugal, these place will be stripped bare if they give back what the pinched off the S American locals or at least the descendants of those they didn’t murder. |  | | |

The diamond? The kid probably deserved a clip round the ear for hanging on to it too long. He was probably cruel to his downtrodden subjects so deserved another one for that.
