| Kitchen advice please hive mind 12:13 - Jul 12 with 1826 views | Mullet | I need a decent but fairly smallish kitchen renovation. Anyone had good/bad experiences with Wren, Magnet, Howdens et al? I’m aware these things can spiral into Monopoly money territory, so I’d like the best bang for my buck without needing anything luxurious. I’ve been recommended a local company to fit one but it’s been years since I put one in and the company that did it have gone tits up. Cheers as always | |

I had to open an account just to buy a door hinge.

We’ve used them on lots of projects and they’ve always been great in terms of price and quality. They’ve recently been purchased by Howdens so it’ll be interesting to see how prices etc change

Have used Benchmarx several times for new builds. Kitchens are the same as Wickes but the prices are more competitive and the design service can be better though variable from one branch to another ( can be very good or quite poor ) . Downside is delivery service which can be poor although they are pretty good at rectifying problems.

| Kitchen advice please hive mind on 13:10 - Jul 12 by Bluespeed225 | DIY Kitchens. Based in Yorkshire, big concern despite the name! You design it online, so lots of measurements, they check all details, you pick all cabinets etc, good communication, great quality for price, but you need your own fitter if you don’t fancy having a go yourself. I was really pleased. |
Totally agree with this. Had one kitchen from them, designed it myself and submitted, they suggested one minor change. Good quality and excellent customer service.

Sounds as though we may have got lucky and they've gone downhill since - Howdens are good but price has really ramped up for me compared to what they were 5-6 years ago. Wickes ok, but their units are flat packed rather than pre made which isn't ideal

| Kitchen advice please hive mind on 11:19 - Jul 13 with 157 views | Ralphinho | Depends how much of a rush you are in - B&Q do really good sales at varying time of the year. I got mine (mostly doors to put onto old units, some new units) for 40% off, plus 10% Trade Discount, plus an additional 10% Trade promo. The quality varies depending on the range (and price) but I got an upper-mid tier set and they seem decent - one door arrived with a panel slightly misaligned but B&Q had a new one out to me in a day or so. The doors and units come with a 25 year warranty it feels like a good balance of price and quality. | |
