Around 20 hit since 2021, up to the current conflict, and others ‘confiscated’ in the Persian gulf (I.e not including Iranian sponsored Houthi attacks in the Gulf of Aden). Iran mined the waters many years before the current conflict, in effect they used the waters for geopolitical leverage, often targeting Saudi tankers.
