Never agreed with him on politics but he was quite funny in some of his take downs and struck me as a good bloke.

Might also be wrong on this, but seem to remember he took a break, came back briefly, then ’retired’ altogether.

Definitely a great bloke, who’ll be missed.

My final message was the following but I got no reply.

"Absolutely. And maybe you might consider coming back to TWTD.

I know some of the comments and contributors on there can be rather hurtful and appalling, but the vast majority of us aren't like that."
