Watkins just stood up front moaning when he had to get back and defend there. He's been a horror show and Toney awful. That one sub has been terrible for us.

France have been ok but everything we were doing well with the width, pace and shape has gone out the window here.

Watkins is just not an international forward and as for Toney a carthorse but at least he stayed up front unlike Kane does in a game.

Is it me ? but it looks like most teams in the world cup don't play with a normal type center forward, more like a front line of two wide players and a No.10 that interchange all the time.

I felt like Rice is a center half playing in midfield and we controlled the game at the end when we had two fullbacks in Spence and James.

There certainly seems to be a move away from the traditional CF 6foot+ No.9. Spain are starting games with Oyarzabal in a No.9 formation but he plays most of his club career as a No.10 and that's how he operates as the Spainish games progress. Same with France and Mbappe #10, and Argentina with Messi #10
