All joking aside it’s a shame as he has probably done more to help ex offenders re-habilitate through offering them jobs etc than any other person holding that position in the last 25 years. A lot of companies could learn from Timpson’s upside down management philosophy too.

Completely agree. Was just about to post the same.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

Agree with this totally. Worth giving his Desert Island Discs a listen too.

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

I'm certainly surprised to see him step down, and it would be interesting to know the wider reasons for his doing so.

I was delighted to see him appointed as prisons minister, but did get the impression that he wasn't necessarily able to influence policy in the way he would have hoped.

Not a prophet, or a stone-age man; just a mortal with potential of a superman.

Disappointing, he was just starting to lace things together.

In short, he has publicly said he's done all he can in the role. Read into that what you will.

Yup, that's rather telling.

Given that his stance has always been that we send far more people to prison that we should, it was always going to take a radical change in public policy to allow him to bring about the changes he wants.
