I know proof is in the pudding, but it’s on another level to last time we went up isn’t it?

These seem the kind of players we should have signed the first time around!

It's not so much if we should have bought players like that last time as whether we could have done. Contrast summer 2024's fruitless chasing of Ioannidis with the array of men (some of them established "names") we are hiring at considerable pace now. That's not down to budget - we had access to plenty of money two years ago - but to us being taken seriously as a Prem outfit by clubs, players and agents

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I agree with you. But many people from KmC and above has stated we was not ready for the unexpected promotion.
With a new manager and so many new needed faces/bodies coming in I am concerned on how fast the team will gel. Look how long it took last season.

Please don't mention the " G " word, heard more than enough of it last season, even more than half way through it! Do that this coming season and we are stuffed even before we begin. Only Boro's late collapse got us the auto's as it was. There are no excuses for it, no matter what anyone says, and I'm sure this time round they know it full well. So that's not a word I'm expecting to hear uttered, even once.

I think it’s been excellent on paper so far. It will be interesting though to see if it doesn’t go to plan whether Ashton or O’Neill get the flak.

Anything below hull and cov is clearly a failure but we need to finish above an established team, who will be terrible this year?

Haha I like how every so often someone discusses the location of the proof.

Has it been found?

Is it in a bush?

People may want it now, but I believe some of the bigger name signings will come later in the window as the food chain sorts itself out. Once the big established clubs buy they will see who they don't want and it feeds itself down. Unless we go abroad.

We also have 2 x loans from other PL clubs chips to play once the bigger clubs squads start settling down.

My first thought was who do Chelsea and Brighton have that we might fancy taking on loan! Guiu seems the obvious one.

Hopefully we will sign players as good as Hutch and Delap soon…

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Whilst I have nothing but praise and admiration for our former manager after all he did achieve all those promotions perhaps his take on what was needed for the Premier league was a bit out of kilter with what was needed.
If it is believed he left the club due to MA not sanctioning the buying of Lens Cajuste.
We cannot say for definite this was the case but Cajuste had never really proven himself. Wasn't picked for Championship games as he couldn't see out 90 minutes and made little impact when he did get on the field.
GON seems to be targeting a totally different type of player. We still need a really top class midfielder to go alongside Matusiwa and maybe one or two more defenders and if Philogene goes at least one, maybe two more forward.
