I've thought about doing this. Just because I leave early on match days and don't want to carry leads or a powerbank with me.
But I'm almost certain that because I have a digital account with ITFC and have bought season/match tickets online, an exception request would be rejected on the grounds that I'm 'IT literate'. |
Exactly this. Ive bought ONE digital ticket ever, Burnley at home in the cup, 23' I think, so i was refused the old style ticket because of this. The story of mt attempts to enter the ground that day with said digital ticket have been documented on here before. 'Turn the brightness up on your phone' was the best advice i got at the turnstyle before having to go to the ticket office who printed me off a ticket! I do hope things have progressed! |  | | |

Probably a stupid question, and I could just wait and see, but will they be the QR scan type or will they be NFC phone upside down things like credit cards? |
From what the ticket office told me the digital season ticket will be NFC only.
The only two exceptions it appears will be corporate executive boxes, because they are entertaining clients and you cannot expect different clients every week to have to download a digital card. I think they will have a QR scan option
The other being something different for those in the disabled section, but they said that would be communicated directly to those people. |  | | |

Tickets are ready and I’ve downloaded mine to my wallet now.
Also you can now resell or forward tickets on. For the latter you need their email address. I am going to guess at this point that they received a single ticket to add to their wallet rather than a pdf with a QR. [Post edited 30 Jul 22:05]

Agree, it’s really simple to do. It’s much the same as any other digital ticket download to Apple/Google Wallet.
Would I prefer a card (even better, a book of tickets!!)? Yes. But it is what it is.
I was in the club shop on Wednesday and overheard one of the staff talking to somebody who was having problems knowing what to do and I must say they were being very helpful and patient. |  | | |

It'll be a one time download for the season. It'll update per game server side I imagine. So once the Sunderland game is done, It will update to Liverpool and so on.
I can go back, refresh the page and re-download if required. | | | |

It wasn't on mine even though I had an art gallery membership in it which I'd never used.
Turning it on added a broadcast icon just above the digital season ticket.
This doesn't appear to be mentioned in the guide that the club has provided, and could catch some people out. [Post edited 31 Jul 11:40]

My dad used it for a few games at the end of last season. Works really well he said, It's basically like using your phone to pay for a contactless payment in a shop. Hold next to the reader at the turnstile and it flashes green and lets you in. | | | |
