I think that's unkind.
There have been a couple of threads on here with people complaining it is all going digital and how that may impact certain demographics, including older fans. It has also been pointed out by others that this is a Premier League rule and not the club.
So I think it's quite community spirited of the club, considering they had to move to digital tickets, to assist with those who may feel anxious or confused. |  |

Maybe it’s for the older customer have you thought of that ? For instance my mother is 80 and can’t grasp using a mobile phone. As for the internet she has no interest in that at her age. Luckily Im there to help but some folk don’t have that support,so good on the club. |  | | |

That's a ridiculous comment, a touch disappointed as its not entirely like you.
I can assure you there has been numerous discussion, planning and consideration over the whole concept of digital ticketing. Ensuring acceptable signal/Wi-Fi, understanding the breadth of the fan base, complying with Premier League requirements, trying to enhance the matchday experience rather than make it worse and above try and assist those that may not be tech savvy.
While I am not in need of this assistance I can say I am very pleased the club has given it this much thought and practical assistance for those that may not be confident. |  |

I have to say, as one of those effected, I am not thick, I dont need to be told how to use the technology. My first mobile phone 40 years ago was the size and weight of a brick and the battery lasted a good 3 hours provided it was not used.
It is just that I dont have a phone that is suitable. The one I have is old, I use it for talking to people. That is it.
So now I will have to obtain a new phone, learn how to use it to access the match, and that is it. I wont use it otherwise. This will effectively increase the cost of my season ticket for no damn good reason that I can see. |  | | |

I am not quite sure what the criteria is, but there could be an option to ask for a non-nfc entry method.
“Whilst digital ticketing remains the primary method of entry, the Club retains discretion to provide alternative ticket formats where reasonable grounds exist.”
