I view it slightly differently.
I'd rather see 5-6 (plus 1 more if Jaden is sold) high quality additions. Quality rather then quantity. Unless we are terribly unlucky with injuries, we just need 17-18 really good players in the squad (a stable starting 11 and bench is worth several points imo). For me the likes of Furlong, Mehmeti are fine if called on from time to time rather than relied on as part of the spine of the team.
As I've also often said, I rate some of our players higher than some do. For me Ogbene and McAteer are perfectly ok as bench players (and some starts to provide a bit of rotation.
We'll see where we are squad-wise in 9 weeks, and who was right about how many additions there were - and then, if it is only 5-6/7, the judgement will be on May 30th at 6pm |
