| 20 years for that funeral director who left bodies unburied... 16:03 - Jul 31 with 788 views | bluelagos | Any alternatives? I know when the blokes who cut down the sycamore gap tree were sentenced - some Twtd posters convinced me other punishments were more sensible than prison time. But this guy - struggling to see any alternative to jail though the length of sentence surprised me. Thoughts? | |

Will read up a bit. Must be awful to learn a loved one was mistreated, clearly and am sure the relatives will see it as justice which is good. Was just wondering people's thoughts tbh

I think there's an automatic one-third reduction in a sentence for an immediate guilty plea. His future behaviour (including demonstrating counting and full acceptance of what he did) governs how long until he can get paroled. When the story broke initially, I thought it was some bloke who'd just got into a muddle, perhaps because of the growing popularity of direct cremations. He clearly wasn't in a muddle, but carried out systematic fraud of grieving, vulnerable people.
