interesting choice of date. At that time the opinion polls put the Tories on 44 and Labour 34. So no surprise that both Labour and the Tories have lost a few votes since then.
We are now in a multi-party system, and clearly Reform and probably the Greens have peaked far too soon. Restore is obviously dividing the right wing vote, and the more Farage tries to counter that, the more likely some voters will drift back to the Conservatives.
What is surprising is that in the latest election Labour won the first preference vote in every Borough, including Wigan, where Reform won 24 out of 25 seats in May. This time Labour won there with a 10,000 vote majority. [Post edited 1 Aug 13:33]

That's not how the English legal system works! You can't point a camera at small businesses and say "we assume (the shops in this road) to be fronts for organised crime."
If you have evidence, go to the Police with it, otherwise "assuming" that a business is a front "for organised crime" based on the nationality of the owner or manager is the very definition of racism. | | | |

Mayoral elections are rarely good indicators of the national picture, but when you take into account the recent by-elections, there's definitely a trend of Reform struggling to translate leading in national polls into winning elections. Reform seemed to know they weren't going to win this won, pretty sure I read they decided to put all resource into the farce of a Clacton by-election to maximise the potential margin of victory there.
Tactical voting is definitely a factor, which is also hard to translate into a national election, as tactical voting is more prominent during these individual or ad hoc elections.
The Greens will be disappointed given the Gorton and Denton by-election results, they've had a tough couple of months. And the Tory result looks bad but they rarely get over 10% in the Manchester Mayoral race, so it's about in line with their recent drop off. |  | | |

Yes. And it was always going to happen. I said months ago that they had peaked and won’t be anywhere near forming a government come the next ejection. Ditto the Greens peaked earlier this year. |
I think the most likely outcome of the next General Election is No overall majority, and a Confidence and Supply or Coalition Government.
If the latter, either the Greens or Reform may very well be close to forming a Government, even if as a minor partner. | | | |
