With Enciso coming on a permanent surely we can’t afford Palacios and an experienced striker as well?

Still some money there I think, especially given we need to ship out a number of players. If some of those are on a perm (ie. Hirst + Clarke) that will help.

Yes. It's expected to spend 150-200m, not counting for sales, and with amortisation the money available to spend is greater than the income received. I'm sure, also, there are a few loans ready to trigger once permanent signings are largely complete.

Nowhere close to the ceiling imposed by the financial regulations. I expect us to be around £175-200M by the time the window closes.

SCR rules next season, any accountants able to shed some light on this? by SuffolkPunchFC 4 May 10:35
I have your numbers way out [smile]

My quick calculation, based on 24/25 accounts for when we were last in the PL.

Revenue £155M
Total wage bill £77M
Player costs amortised £30M
(estimated to be £27M now, due to Delap and Hutchinson leaving, and accounting for new signings)

Estimated Revenue for 26/27 £180M
At 85% SCR, that gives us £153M to play around with
(There are 'safe' ways to exceed this but reduce future flexibility, so will ignore that)

Remove costs excluding player amortisation (£77M-£27M = £50M) leaves £103M

The signings would of course have to be paid - so let's assume 8 players at £50k/week, so £21M, reducing the headroom to £82M

Signings of players over 4 year contracts would allow £328M, or £410M for 5 years (contracts would of course vary) after amortisation

Now, we would not IMO want to go anywhere near 85% SCR ratio - we were 49% last year, but I don't see SCR being the limiting factor for us - it would be other fiscal responsibility that determines what we're prepared to put into player signing.

This is a quick calculation (so ignore positives such as players leaving), but I think it's about right.

Must be getting close.

Hopefully we can raise 50 million ish with player sales to fund a few more signings.

I also think we’ll see a few loans with obligations - allowing us to defer payment for a year.

I think we’ve still got quite a bit of room for manouvre.

Let’s not forget, we got a good chunk for Muric and Baggot to start the window, and we’ll get a big boost from the Philogene fee when he goes.

Add to that, we had a good £20-30m worth of headroom left over from last season with the sales of Delap, Hutchinson and Broadhead.

Also bear in mind that deals will be structured to be spread over several years, accounting for future PL revenue or parachute payments.

I’d expect us to be able to go to £200m if needed.

GON said that we hope to do a fair bit more business, so you'd think Enciso plus a few more.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

"Add to that, we had a good £20-30m worth of headroom left over from last season with the sales of Delap, Hutchinson and Broadhead."

It's worth noting that this headroom is now not relevant. That was under PSR, and the compliance regulations under SCR are completely different (and beneficial to us).

If we are getting somewhere near the upper end of our SCR cap then -

(a) We might still sell Jaden for a signifcant fee.
(b) We are still likely to realise a profit on whichever of Palmer, H. Clarke, Taylor, Nunez, Humphreys, Mehmeti, Hirst we decide to sel.
(c) You can also choose to take a fine if you go above the SCR cap, which might think strategically wise given the situation.

Which is a bit of a shame really, the club put a lot of work into that.

Philogene 30m
Hirst 10m

That'll help...
