Ruptured his Achilles poor sod probably out for season.

Did ok for us two seasons ago in the Prem, certainly didn’t let us down when he played and was fantastic in our promotion seasons. That’s a bad injury at his age. Could be the end of playing at the level he has been.

That's not good, wishing him a swift recovery.

Sadly, a ruptured achilles does not repair quickly. He'll do well to return this season & may be better off hoping to be fit for 2027-28.

Always a friend of mine. Get well soon Cam.

Hopefully our club offers all our new rehab stuff to him.

He will be 31 in October. Medical science being what it is - hopefully he will recover ok even if he has to kiss goodbye to this season. Achilles injuries are meant to be one of the most painful, poor s0d.

I thought he was a good, solid player for us. Brave as a lion too. I wish him well.

Obviously awful for him but this is absolutely ridiculous.

Why would we offer to do his rehab etc for him? He doesn’t play for us now & he’s contracted to Swansea City who will provide that all for him.

I can vouch for the pain. I ruptured mine about 18 years ago now. It can still ache depending on the weather.

Bizarreness aside I doubt a bloke who lives in South Wales and has a club would want to travel the other side of the country for some treatment.

Ahh, well that’s the problem with serious injuries. There’s always a nice little legacy that bites harder the older you get.

I managed in my yoof (or some other £&#@ard did it for me more accurately) to wreck my ankle ligaments. It was beyond painful and I’m told an Achilles job is a lot worse than that.

Swift is a relative term. Might have been better using the word "smooth".

Yeah. A middle aged friend of mine ruptured his achilles while playing squash. He eventually did try to play again, but his heart wasn't in it so he gave up completely.

That’s a real shame for Agent Burgess, at least he managed to get to a World Cup before this.
He’s a still a youngish man central defensive wise so hopefully he’ll be back…I was sad to see him leave us as it had been nice seeing him improve season on season a bit like Omari and Taylor.
All the best Cameron if you ever read this.

Doubt he reads this forum now even if he did when he played for us. But still wish him well and hope he has a full recovery.

He scored more goals for us last season than Azor Matusiwa, Ben Johnson, Dara O'Shea, Darnell Furlong, Jacob Greaves, Jens Cajuste, and Sammie Szmodics.

Solid player for us, and more importantly seemed a good guy too. Hope he smashes the recovery and gets back playing.

Yeah, I was going to mention it at the weekend and then forgot. He did it near the end of the League Cup game last Saturday. It’ll be quite a long way back for him I reckon. On the one hand he’s as tough as nails so that will help, but on the other he’s not got a lot of pace and agility to lose.

Poor chap. Hopefully recovers as quickly as one can from something like this.
